Lord, teach me your statues.
Remove from me the way of falsehood,
And favor me with your law.
Take not the word of truth from my mouth,
For in your ordinances is my hope.
Psalm 119: 29, 43
Every religion has its “law.” Every culture has its rules. Every society creates legal codes. But when we have awakened to and embodied our True, Divine Self, there is no need for rules. When we are our TRUE, Divine Selves, there is no need for law because the “law” that we need to live in peace and harmony where the needs of the all are fully and abundantly met, is written on our Souls and inscribed in our hearts. When we are our TRUE, Divine Selves, we know only one law, and that is the law of love – love of Self and love of neighbor, where EVERYONE is our neighbor because as we recognize the Divine that lives in and through us, we recognize the Divine in others. As Gods we live solely (soul-ly) for the sake of love.
When we have forgotten we are Gods, we live in fear. When we live in fear, we act in ways which are non-loving toward ourselves and non-loving toward others. It is out of this fear that we, forgetting that we are Gods, have created rules to live by:
- Thou shall not kill.
- Thou shall not steal.
- Thou shall not bear false witness (lie).
- Thou shall not commit adultery.
- Thou shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.
- Thou shall not covet your neighbor’s wife/husband.
But we would not need these laws, or the means of enforcing these laws if we would only do the work we came here to do which is to remember that we are Gods.
Remembering that we are Gods is not the same as believing we are God. Believing we are God means we believe that we are all there is and that I am the only one that matters. Believing we are God is the path of humanity’s downfall.
Believing we are Gods means that we know ourselves to be an expression of “The One Thing,” aka “God” (or “Goddess” if you prefer) and that “The One Thing” lives within each of us and seeks to be known in the world through us – in all the infinitely unique ways we can live and be as human beings. God in and through Us and Us in God.
This is what Jesus taught:
Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe through their word, so that they may all be ONE as you, “Mother/Father God,” are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe it is for this that you sent me. And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know why you sent me, and that they will come to know that you love them even as you love me.
John 17: 17, 20-23
Our journey as human beings is to know this truth – that We are One with God as Jesus was One with God. When we know this truth, we know peace and we live according to love. “Alchemy” is the name given by the ancients to the process by which we come to know this truth. Jesus called it “the way” (“I Am” is the way to truth and life). Mary Magdalene was initiated and completed this process when she was “healed of seven demons.” “John” in coded language revealed this process in the Book of Revelation. Authentic Freedom was the process revealed to me in support of this journey of inner transformation and the foundation of all the work that I do in the world, whether it be in my writing, publishing, and teaching or in all the simple ways I share this process with all those to come into my path.
We have no need for rules or for law – we have only need for one thing – to know the truth and that truth is LOVE.
