Into the Wilderness

As I embrace the wilderness experience of divorce and the grief over the initial transition (missing my kids, adjusting to my temporary living situation, wanting my own home, worrying about job, money, etc.), the following song came to me.  I embrace the comfort the Divine offers through these words and I invite you to do the same:

Come back to me with all your heart.

Don’t let fear keep us apart.

Trees do bend, though straight and tall,

so must we to others call.

Long have I waited for your coming, home to me and living deeply our new life.

The wilderness will lead you to your heart where I will speak.

You shall sleep secure with peace;

faithfulness will be your joy.

Long have I waited for your coming, home to me and living deeply our new life.

Hosea 6:1, 3:3, 2:16, 21; Joel 2:12

What are God’s words to you when you are in need of comfort?

How has God spoken to you in your own wilderness experiences?

How is God speaking to your heart today?
