Creating Change

Today’s blog explores the question of how we are called to respond to things in the world we perceive as needing change.  This seems especially relevant as we observe the current political, religious and economic unrest.

The Question:

The following question was posed to a great spiritual teacher:

“How can we best encourage change on this planet?  Do you think we should fight or oppose old organizations which are resisting change?”

The Response:

“Be aware that whenever you fight something, you are focusing on it and giving it energy.  If you wish to remove something from manifestation, it is better to focus on its opposite:  give that good quality or organization energy, and watch it flourish and grow, knowing that the old will wither away in its on time.” (question and response from the book, Power of the Magdalene by Stuart Wilson and Joanna Prentis)

WOW!

This is a profound question with an even more profound answer.  As I have been witnessing the political events unfolding in Madison (Wisconsin), around the country and around the world, and watching both sides duke it out, I have been wondering what the most compassionate, loving and peaceful response would really be.  I had a sense of what felt right for me, but I could not give it words until I found the above dialogue.  When I read these words, it resonated on such a deep level, that I knew I had to share it.  So, there it is!  Reflect.  Ponder.  Discern.  Does this feel like truth for you?

What change do you want to see in the world?

How are you being called to hold the vision of positive change in your consciousness, prayer, meditation, etc?

Where are you tempted to “fight against”, how can you entertain, indulge in its opposite instead?

Where are you being called to put your energy toward compassion, peace, joy?

PS:  One of the practices I enjoy for creating change is sacred chant.  Chanting the names of the Divine works to alter our own vibration along with the vibrations of the universe and the vibration of the loving intentions we hold in our hearts and in our minds.  Here is an example of one chant that helps to raise our vibration to more closely reflect Divine compassion and love, try it on for size!

I’m all for positive change because it feels like I’ve been ‘fighting’ for change and getting frustrated and drained. I like the idea of a chant, or prayer, or poem. I use breath, too. I’ve been paying attention to my reaction more – if I feel defensive or flare up, I try to investigate where it comes from before I jump to conclusions. It’s hard when it’s in a weak spot. Rather than always analyze or intellectualize my reactions, I’ve been trying to feel it in my body, too, locate where it affects me. I think this conscious attempt to create positive change is working. I can’t speak for world events, but it works for our own little nest.

    A Meditation of Love
    ( Releasing Infinite Supply)

Never expect anything from anyone, and you’ll never be disappointed.
The ego’s game is to hold points against all according to anything they did or did
not do,or perform, according to their own
personal and sometimes misunderstood, or even unknown, expectations. So they
have towards others an enormous invisible list of debts all owe them, always
making others to feel they owe them! This makes these egoic people always feel superior,on top of their game, while others are made to always feel quite inferior, all the time, and thus the more insecure they become. These culprits, all the while, think they are controlling all
through their unexplainable anger, and even arrogance making some others even think they owe them their friendship in allegiance!
All these egoic gamers are not gaining debts from other, but toward themselves, building a larger and larger
dam against themselves, impeding the Spiritual Omnipresent flow of God’s love, peace, and Infinite supply in their lives, and through them to others! This brings us back to that perfect remedy for
Wholeness in “The Lord’s Prayer”: “Forgive us our debts as we forgive others” of their
known,or unknown debts. Again Jesus said,”What ye loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven;thus becoming a Living flow of a simultaneous Infinite supply of the Omnipresent Rivers of Life, which is synonymously linked with an ever increasing flow of love like the sunshine towards all without shadow of turning, though man’s un-calmed mind is slow to perceive this endless flow of every good and perfect gift coming down from the “Father of Lights” throughout creation; inseparable! We must not leave out the other half of the wisdom of Jesus in this statement concerning a binding that
destructively stops this Infinite supply of
love where too many people’s ego’s gets
the best of them “Whatever ye bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven” to their
    own harms way!
How shall we end this rat race, beginning with ourselves,to powerfully
turn back the tides in the right direction loosening all,and ourselves at the same time?
Here is a simple powerful meditation,
and as you perceive loves ever increasing flow by it,it’s hard to stop! Unburden and calm your mind in inner prayer, and,or scripture phrase,in your heart silently. Whatever way is most personal and effective for you, till you feel the still waters run deep in the center
of your being;the Holy spirit working as
One with you in perfect Omnipresent loving attendance. and in this serenity of Light,
envision all your past, present, and future expectations of all, living or deceased,
being loosed, along with yourself at the same time, and the ever increasing flow of God’s perfect love, peace, and Infinite
    supply simultaneously replacing all
    expectancy of them and you.
As you practice this meditation whenever you feel overburdened by
    others egoic,or destructive control,return
to this meditation as long as you continue to feel the liberty of Spirit and
    spaciousness Christ always intended for
you as long as you Live!
My prayers go out for you,One,always in this grace filled endeavor of the Heavenly Fathers beautiful love for you in Christ Jesus;Lord and Savoir of all creation! Sincerely in deep felt love,
    Jay P. Raeder
