Fairytale Manifesto

Fairytale Manifesto

December 16, 2010  Lauri Lumby

I hereby proclaim that I will not longer accept anything less than the fairytale life.  I have grown tired of a life that says, “sit down, shut up and put up,” or “you’re just a dreamer, fairytales aren’t real,” or worse yet, “the dream of the handsome prince only leads to co-dependency.”  I am here to ordain that fairytales are real and not only are they real, they are the birthright of each and every man, woman and child.

It is said that our life is what we make of it, well guess what, I have decided to make mine a fairytale.  I choose the fairytale job, the fairytale home, the fairytale family and the fairytale handsome prince…and I get to be the princess with the glass slippers and pumpkin turned magical coach.  And all this is possible through the work of my own hands and through the magical assistance of all my fairy god-mothers and god-fathers.  Bibbity Bobbity Boo!

So, I wave my magic wand and poof….from this moment on, I am living the fairytale life and I will settle for nothing less!   And I will call this life:

My Happily Ever After…Afterall

Good for you, Lauri! There’s no reason why you can’t live that fairytale life. Too many people let fear and social scripting spell out what their lives are going to look like, rather than deciding to live their inner dreams.
